No Room At The Inn

And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. … Luke 2:7 NKJV

We all recognize this verse. It is from the nativity story, which is told largely in part in Luke 2. It is the story of how God incarnated Himself into the person of Jesus Christ the greatest gift to the world. Can you imagine turning away an expectant father and his pregnant wife who is about to give birth! How much do you want to bet that the people who turned them away were “believers” and “lovers of God”! This verse is not only part of the nativity story but also is a commentary of the world today! The world today largely in part turns away Jesus Christ. It has no room for Christ. America has sadly joined the world in this regard as well. With the pagan influence that is growing in America unchecked and a generation that rejects any belief that America was founded on the principles of The Bible and Christianity, our country too has no room at the inn. The war on Christmas has gone to such ridiculous and extreme lengths that it is nearly forbidden now to make even the slightest reference of what the true meaning of Christmas is. So what does this mean? Does this mean America is doomed with no way out? Taking a phrase from Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol”, if these shadows remain unaltered then it is guaranteed. It doesn’t have to be that way though. Just as Scrooge was offered reclamation, we are offered that same chance as well. It starts with you, if you haven’t given your life to Jesus Christ, you can change that today! In Revelation, Jesus says…

(20) Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. … Revelation 3:20 NKJV

Giving your life to Jesus, giving Him “room at the inn”, will change your life and who knows, may change America’s as well!

Merry Christmas!
